Windows disc image burner missing

That is the good old Microsoft way to do it natively (= yuck!). The optional ' Desktop Experience Pack' (which includes a bunch of extra programs you likely do not want installed on your server) must be installed in order to get the built in Windows ISO burning applet. Even after you install the 'Desktop Experience Pack', the 'Burn CD/DVD' tab will not appear unless you are logged in using the local system Admin account (a ll other accounts are treated per the “remote desktop” security restrictions).

The ability to burn CD/DVD media is not installed by default on Windows Server 2008 R2 machines. As the question is not answered I did some Googling to come up with this: I know this is a very old topic but was just wondering the same thing and this is the first Spiceworks result I found.
